War of the Worlds is a real snoozer

December 12, 2009 Leave a comment

I can’t think of any really bad movies that Steve Speilberg has made off the top of my head, but when I tried to watch War of the Worlds a few nights ago, I now know of one of them. It was so bad — boring, mostly — that I watched the last 75% of the movie at 2X speed on my DVR.

In a related note, I really liked the Dakota Fanning character in the movie Push, but she didn’t really shine in this movie like she did in that one.

In an interesting Speilberg note, he directed a Columbo episode when he was 25 years old. I remember them using the name “Spellberg” in an episode (possibly this one), and I looked this up on IMDB many years ago.

Sherlock Holmes, coming soon

I’ve always been a huge Sherlock Holmes story fan, so I’m pretty cranked about the upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie. I’ll be seeing it with some family members as soon as it comes out, and I hope it’s great.

Here’s a link to the Sherlock Holmes movie trailers from Warner Bros.
